A Sure Word Community Outreach is a faith-based group clinic and community organization in Lynchburg, Virginia. We provide women's mental health care, wellness programs, mobile crisis response, and essential community services. Our mission is to strengthen individuals and families through compassion, dignity, and faith-grounded support.

Mobile Crisis Highlight
We participate in Mobile Crisis Response through the Community Services Board. Crisis calls must go through 988 or CSB. When dispatched our reponders provide on-site stabilization, emotional support, and follow-up care.

Our mission is to provide accessible faith grounded mental health care, crisis response, and community support that strengthens individuals and families in Lynchburg and the surrounding areas. We are committed to delivering services that honor dignity, promote emotional stability, and create clear pathways toward healing and long‑term wellness. Through clinical care, mobile crisis response, and practical community resources, we work to ensure that every person has the support they need to move forward with confidence and stability.

We provide clinical mental health services for women, mobile crisis response through our partnership with the Community Services Board, and essential community programs that address real‑life needs such as food support, employment assistance, and notary services.
We operate at the intersection of clinical care, crisis stabilization, and community outreach, allowing us to support people at every stage — from immediate crisis to long‑term recovery and stability. Our team is committed to professionalism, compassion, and accountability. We meet people where they are, provide clear guidance, and help them access the resources and support systems that lead to lasting change.

Meet the Founder
Tori Howard, MS, QMHP, is the Founder and Executive Director of A Sure Word Community Outreach in Lynchburg, Virginia. Raised in Derby, Connecticut, she combined her background as a dedicated mother of four with an unrelenting work ethic to build a diverse, impactful career spanning executive leadership, corporate finance, insurance, and mental health care.
Tori brings an extensive professional background to her advocacy work, serving as a current Board Member for a mental health foundation in Dallas, Texas. Her diverse corporate experience includes positions with major financial institutions like Wells Fargo and Bank of America, as well as corporate insurance experience with Blue Cross Blue Shield. As a certified Qualified Mental Health Professional and Registered Peer Recovery Specialist, she launched her non-profit to directly address the critical gaps facing underserved local populations.
An accomplished academic and author, Tori holds an Associate degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology and Sociology) from Fayetteville State University (an HBCU), and a Master of Science in Psychology from Walden University. She is currently a Doctoral candidate in Public Administration at Liberty University. She has also published two books: The Way to Worship and a children’s book, I see you and all the things you do. Through A Sure Word Community Outreach, she leverages local partnerships to deliver lasting resources to those who need them most.
